Visualizing Scent Dispersion

This demonstration uses harmless smoke to illustrate how scent exits the ScentVents™ micro-vents. Smoke is visible while scent molecules are not. During normal use you will not see anything leaving the trap—the smoke simply helps visualize the direction of the scent plume fruit flies follow toward the trap.

Escape-Proof Entry Design

By attracting and capturing newly emerged adult flies before they reach breeding maturity, the trap interrupts the reproductive cycle. Female fruit flies can lay up to 500 eggs, so preventing even a small number from reproducing dramatically reduces the infestation.
With consistent trapping, the entire breeding population can collapse within a typical 2–3 week fruit fly life cycle.
